Supafine: Boring and increasingly not personal

Posted on | May 11, 2006 13 Comments | e-mail | print

HOLY CRAP, y’all. The Office season finale. Holy crap.

I know I’ve spent at least a week talking politics and motherhood and pushing links and discussing ANTM, but I have to make one more post about TV before I ease back into, y’know, feelings and shit. Or rapturous sonnets about the way Owen says “juice” (for the record, it’s szhooozh, and it’s so damned cute I could die).

THE OFFICE. Holy Crap. Dear Jesus, I’ve been a good girl, please grant me a Tivo so I can watch the last 10 minutes over and over again, amen.

Wasn’t it fabulous? I literally gasped and put my hand over my mouth when they…you know (I don’t want to spoil it for anyone).

DAMNED FINALES! Now we have to WAIT for more. I hate waiting.

Come watch our TiVo. We saved it for you. I’ll put together a nice .mpg and send it. Like porn. After that, for the love of all that is holy stop torturing me with network television. Where’s Owen?

    Love and Kisses,

    Matt

    I second Matt.

We (ahem, I) watched it over and over again - it was wonderful. Come on over and enjoy the experience.

The Office is easily the best show on television…

I’m a guy and I actually enjoyed the romantic scenes. If only other shows could make romance so “real”.

Too bad we have to wait for the next season to start…

Oh My! I too, could not believe the ending of office! I wanted it to happen, but by no means actually think that it would! Oh! My heart was all a flutter! I couldn’t speak during it, but as soon as it was over I couldn’t shut up! I was really starting to make Kelsey mad. He says, “it’s only a TV show” but it’s not, it’s more than that. I feel as though I’m a part of them, that’s it actually happening to me!

Holy shit I know!! During the last commercial break Bryan and I were saying how they’ll never actally put it out in the open then bam! WTF? It was awesome. Are they gonna phase Jim out though? I didn’t know what all that transfer shit was about.

Ooh, ooh! I am so glad you posted about this. I was all alone watching the finale and I nearly hyperventilated. I hope the tivo fairy grants your wish - i just ordered dvr with our new cable service and I am already fantasizing about it.

•candace: I HATE WAITING TOO. But word is that there will be webisodes of the accounting staff — oscar, angela and kevin — over the summer! yay!

•matt: oh, hush your mouth. How many times do I have to remind you I don’t have cable? I watch two shows a week — three if you count This Old House — and sometimes I just have to share my revelations with the rest of the world. of course, i wouldnt’ turn down a copy of this episode (or any british seasons you happen to have laying around). And as soon as i find a way to travel through space without traveling through time i will come over and watch tv at your house. For the time being, though, let’s plan on drinks at the clubhouse? Memorial Day weekend? Yes?

•Alicia, you too, on the drinks.

•butter, I *love* the romantic scenes. I can definitely see how guys would like them too, though. They are so realistically and well done. This summer’s going to be looooong, though, waiting for season 3.

•emily: I know exactly how you mean! I was all wide-eyed and shocked as I watched it and when it was over I couldn’t stop going OMG OMG OMG. And I think it’s a testament to just how good the show is because I feel like it’s happening to me too. Or maybe I just wish it was. [kidding, Iain, kidding, you’re way hotter than Jim Halpert].

•mama c-ta: I know! I really, really didn’t think they’d actually go through with the kiss. I am glad they did, though. I’ve wanted that to happen for them for a long time. I have no clue what’s going to happen to jim — they CANNOT phase him out. Probably the transfer is just going to hang over his head as another stressor while this whole wedding thing is going on.

•LetterB: Not the Tivo Fairy, the Tivo Jesus. Kind of like Buddy Christ, maybe.

Kidding. I have wangled my feedreader to keep track of downloadable bittorrent episodes of the Office, so that’s *kinda* like a DVR. But 50 times as much of a pain in the ass.

Oh, do. And then I will live vicariously through you.

… You know, I am just realizing that I have a VCR. And if I weren’t too lazy to find the right tape, I could have recorded the episode last night. Idiot.

It doesn’t help you now, but they’ll probably run it again the week before the new season starts, and you can tape it then.
